    Biography

    Prof. Sharif did his Postdoctoral Fellowships: Uni’ Maryland (Baltimore, MD) & Nottingham University (UK) in 1985, obtained Ph.D. in  Neuropharmacology (Southampton University, England, UK); Cooperative Award in Science & Engineering Grant from UK Research Council & Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI; AstraZeneca) in 1982 & completed his B.Sc. in  Physiology & Biochemistry (Joint Honors) (Southampton University, England, UK) in 1978. His 22-year tenure at Alcon resulted in his contributions to the discovery, characterization, development, and US FDA approvals of Patanol®/Pataday®/Pazeo® and  Emadine® to treat allergic conjunctivitis and Travatan® and Simbrinza® for the treatment of ocular hypertension / Glaucoma. He is the recipient of the inaugural Dr. Roger Vogel Award for ocular pharmaceutical research (ARVO Foundation, 2104),  the recipient of the “Sir James Black Award” for contributions to drug discovery (BPS, 2017), and award of the Ernst Barany Prize for outstanding contributions to ocular pharmacology. Dr. Sharif is an Adjunct Professor / Honorary Senior Lecturer / Senior Principal Investigator and graduates Faculty at multiple Universities worldwide.

    • Prof. Ahmed received his bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in 1993, M.Sc. in Medical Parasitology, Main Subject: Medical Parasitology, Subsidiary subject: Microbiology and Immunology from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in 1997& M.D. in Medical Parasitology from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in 2003. He is also a consultant of Medical Parasitology at the Diagnostic and Research Unit of Parasitology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University hospitals Cairo, Egypt. 
    • He is a Principal investigator of a research project approved by Taif University. Protocol Title “A coprological survey for intestinal protozoa: Epidemiology and Clinical remarks Project No1-437-4949. Approval date: 7 September 2016. Project duration: 12 months. Funded by Taif University; KSA and a Co-Investigator of a research project approved by the Taif University. Protocol Title “Cutaneusleishmaniasis in Saudi Arabia: Epidemiology, diagnosis and clinical stage prognosis. Project No1-437-4895. Approval date: 1 September 2016. Project duration: 12 months. Funded by Taif University; KSA. He is a member of Egyptian society of Parasitology.
    Research Interest
    • Expertise in various parasitological diseases and their examination through several evaluation techniques such as Immunochromatography, Blood film examination, Stool & Urine examination.
    • Interested in Immunodiagnosis of parasitologic diseases i.e. schistosomiasis, hydatid disease, amebiasis, and fascioliasis using Indirect hemagglutination test (IHAT), ELISA,and QBC (Quantitative Buffy blood Coat) to detect Malaria and Filaria parasites.

    Biography
    • Prof. Ho obtained B.Sc. General (Botany, Zoology) in 1962 & B.Sc. Special (Botany) in 1963 from University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. Obtained Ph.D. (Botany) in 1966 from University of Western Ontario, London, Canada.  (Thesis: The behavior of zoospores of Phytophthora megasperma var. sojae).
    • After staying on as a Post-doctoral Fellow for one year, he joined the Department of Botany & Bacteriology at Ohio Wesleyan University as Assistant Professor in 1967 before moving to SUNY New Paltz in 1968. He became a professor of biology in 1979 and served as the department chair for 16 years. He was a visiting professor at the University of California at Riverside, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, Nanjing Agricultural University in Nanjing, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Science in Hainan, and Academia Sinica in Taipei. He'd been appointed as an official Visiting Scientist by the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Hainan, China, spring, 2003 and was awarded a second class prize by the National Educational Council of the People's Republic of China in recognition of major contributions to the advancement of scientific technology in China, 1992. He also achieved the Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award, 2017.

    Biography
    • Dr. Tarro has been engaged in medical research for over 30 years. In 1956 began his medical studies at Messina University and then in 1960 continued at Naples University from which he received his M.D. "summa cum laude» in 1962 and the professorship for Oncological Virology in 1972. His research work began in 1960 in the virology laboratory of the Department of Medical Pathology at the University of Naples and continued during the entire period of his medical studies. In I963 and 1964 he was at the Polyclinic of the University in Naples receiving training in pathology, neurology, and internal medicine. 
    • Dr. Tarro's researches in Virology have been both basic and mission-oriented. His basic researches have been concerned with antigens induced early during the replication cycle of herpes simplex virus (HSV). Specific antibodies were detected by the enzyme-Linked immunosorbent assay in the serum of patients affected with certain carcinomas of the head, neck, and urogenital tract. His mission-oriented research has dealt with many aspects of various infectious diseases including broncho-pneumonia, encephalitis, cholera, and the diseases caused by different viruses.

  • Prof. Alfio Ferlito, MD, DLO, DPath, FRCSEd ad hominem, FRCS (Eng, Glasg, Ir) ad eundem, FDSRCS ad eundem, FACS, FHKCORL, FRCPath, FASCP, IFCAP, Coordinator of the International Head Neck Scientific Group, Italy

    Biography

    Prof. Ferlito graduated in medicine from the University of Bologna in 1968. He completed his residency program in otolaryngology and subsequently in pathology. He worked at the ENT Department at Padua University from 1970 to 1997. He was a Formerly Director of the Department of Surgical Sciences at the University of Udine School of Medicine from 2003 to 2009 and Professor and Chairman of the ENT Clinic at the same University from 1997 to 2013.  He is the Editor of four issues of ORL Journal for Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. Prof Ferlito has been the author or co-author of 724 referred publications in 87 medical journals and 54 chapters in various books.

    Biography

    Prof. Singh has more than 21 years of experience in various capacities. Prof. Singh obtained a Ph.D. degree in the field of Biochemistry. He was an associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry, Govt. Medical College-Amritsar and later became the head of the department in the year 2017. He has been a co-principal and investigator for various research projects of many postgraduates (MD, MS, M.Sc.). He has published almost 62 research publications for the last 5 years. He is the leading member of the technical committee and chairperson of B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Medical Sciences- SAS Nagar (Mohali).
